FOXTEL AUSTAR

South Africa with its rich cultural history, diversity and natural beauty also boasts a thriving and internationally award winning wine industry. Less than an hour's drive from the majestic Table Mountain and Cape Town's famous beaches lies the Cape winelands, home to winemaking for over 350 years.

Over 12 months we follow three best friends and young up and coming winemakers Stuart Botha, Howard Booysen and James Corder on their respective farms. From tenderly nurturing the vines through to manic harvest season and eventually drinking liquid gold satisfaction - it's a rollercoaster ride. Not your stereotypical "wine boffins", the trio work hard and long to make names for themselves in this tough industry, and when you work that hard you need to play hard too!

When the blood, sweat, and tears are over, the boys hit the road and discover the people, places and sometimes tall stories that make the South African wine industry truly unique. As with any boys weekend away there is laughter and banter aplenty.

So raise your glasses. This is winemaking, rock 'n roll style.
