Terms and Conditions

1.	Information on how to enter forms part of the terms of entry. Entry into the competition is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.

2.	This competition is open to all ages. Entrants under the age of 18 years at the time of entry must obtain the prior permission of their legal parent or guardian over the age of 18 years to enter. The parent or guardian may be called to verify consent and may be required to sign a release at the discretion of the Promoter. The release will also require the Winner's parent or guardian to accept responsibility for the acts and forbearances of the Winner. The release must include the full name, address and telephone number of the Winner's legal guardian. Failure to provide such proof, particulars or releases will immediately invalidate the Winner's entitlement to the prize, subject to State and Territory legislation.

3.	Entry is open to residents of Australia only.

4.	Entry is not open to:

a)	employees of the NGC Network Australia Pty Ltd, FOXTEL, FETCH TV, Optus TV featuring FOXTEL, FOXTEL from Telstra and TransACT, or an employee of these companies’ related corporations or agencies or any other company associated with the Promoter and the Promotion; or
b)	a spouse, de facto spouse, parent, child or sibling (whether natural or by adoption) of such an employee.

5.	The competition commences on Monday 25 February 2013 at 10:00 (AEDT) and concludes on Sunday 31 March 2013 at 23:59 (AEST).

6.	To enter, entrants will be required to leave their details including contact name, email address, contact telephone and upload a 10 second or less video of their best big cat roar to http://natgeotv.com.au/win One complete and valid online registration will provide the entrant one entry in the competition

7.	Incomplete and incomprehensible entries will be deemed invalid.

8.	The Promoter reserves the right to request winners to provide proof of identity. Proof of identification is at the discretion of the Promoter. In the event that a winner cannot provide suitable proof, the winner will forfeit the prize in whole and no substitute will be offered.

9.	The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entry which, in the opinion of Promoter, includes objectionable content, profanity, potentially insulting, inflammatory or defamatory statements, disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process, who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms & Conditions of Entry or who has, in the opinion of Promoter, engaged in conduct in entering the Promotion which is fraudulent, misleading, deceptive or generally damaging to the goodwill or reputation of the Promotion and/or Promoter. This includes entries conducted by automated online software applications designed to create more than once entry for a single entrant by falsifying and or manipulating entrants’ details such as creating false e-mail addresses. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify a Winner if Promoter becomes aware that the Winner and/or the Winner’s entry is of a type described in this clause.

10.	Entries must be received by 23:59 (AEDT) on Sunday 31st March 2013.  The time of entry will in each case be the time the entry is received by the Promoter and not at the time of submission. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any late, lost or misdirected entries due to technical disruptions, network congestion or for any other reason.

11.	There is One Major Prize and One Runner’s Up Prize.

The Major Prize Winner will receive:
a)	Two return economy airfares for the Winner and guest from the Winner’s nearest Australian capital city (excluding Darwin) to Johannesburg, South Africa. Airport taxes not included.
b)	One night accommodation at D’Oreale Grand Hotel, Johannesburg, South Africa on a bed and breakfast basis including hotel shuttle bus transfers for the Winner and guest.
c)	Six days Group B Europcar car hire including unlimited kilometres. Insurance is not included. Car must be collected from, and returned to, Johannesburg International Airport. Fuel is at the expense of the Winner.
d)	Two nights’ accommodation at Hippo Hollow Hotel, Hazyview, South Africa including dinner and bed and breakfast package for the Winner and guest.
e)	One full day Kruger National Park guided tour including entrance fees. 
f)	One Morning Elephant Whispers Tour for the Winner and guest.
g)	Two nights’ accommodation at a Private Game Lodge in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve on a full board basis which includes three meals per day and two game activities per day for the Winner and guest.

The total Major Prize is valued at a maximum of AUD$12,000.

The Runner Up Prize Winner will receive:
a)	One night at Billabong Camp at Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo in tent accommodation including breakfast and dinner, tours and two day Zoo admission for two adults and two children.
b)	One Behind-The-Scenes Encounter with a Sumatran Tiger. A Taronga Western Plains Zookeeper will be present.

The total Runner Up Prize is valued at a maximum of AUD$686.00

12.	The total prize pool is valued at a maximum of AUD$12,686.00

13.	The Major Prize is limited to one Winner and guest only.

14.	The Runner Up Prize is limited to 2 x adults and 2 x children and children must be aged 5-15 years. Children younger than 5 years are not permitted. Children must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian.

15.	Runner Up Prize: Children must be 7-15 years to participate in the behind-the-scenes encounter with a Sumatran Tiger component. Children under seven years are not permitted on Tiger Encounter and an adult must accompany all children under the age of 15 years.

16.	Each valid entrant who has entered the competition over the duration of the promotional period will be entered into the competition. One valid entrant per prize will be chosen, based on their entry. The judging will take place at NGC Network Australia Pty Ltd, PO Box 847, Darlinghurst NSW 1300, on Monday April 1 2013 at 11:00 (AEST).

17.	This is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining the Winners.  Each entry will be individually judged based on the creative merit of their submission.

18.	Winners will be notified by phone.

19.	All prize values are in Australian dollars based upon the recommended retail prices at the time of printing (inclusive of GST). The Promoter accepts no responsibility for change in prize value between now and the ultimate prize redemption date.

20.	Prizes are not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash. Prizes must be redeemed within the validity period or prizes will be forfeited.

21.	Winners and their guests are responsible for all other expenses including spending money, meals (unless specified), drinks, transfers (unless specified), laundry charges, activities (unless specified), incidentals, taxes (excluding departure and any other flight associated taxes included within the prize), energy surcharges, gratuities, services charges, passports, visas, travel insurance and all other ancillary costs.  Travel insurance is highly recommended to protect against the additional costs incurred in the event of unforeseen circumstances.

22.	The Major Prize Winner and guest must both hold a current Australian drivers licence.

23.	The Major Prize Winner and guest must travel at the same time, must depart from the same capital city and are responsible for transport from their residence to their nearest capital city for flight departure (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Hobart, Canberra.)

24.	The Major Prize must be taken by 31 December 2013 and the Major Prize Winner must book their prize through Swagman Tours. The Runner Up prize must be taken by December 15, 2013. Both Major and Runner Up Prize Winners must book their prize by Monday July 1, 2013.

25.	All aspects of the Prizes, including but not limited to travel arrangements, return economy flights, accommodation and included activities are subject to availability and are at the ultimate discretion of the Promoter.

26.	The Prizes are not available during blackout periods and peak times such as public holidays and school holidays and cannot be changed once the booking has been made. Additionally, the Major Prize cannot be taken between 15 November 2013 and 31 December 2013.

27.	Air tickets are available on the regular scheduled services of each airline and are subject to seasonal embargos. Flight itinerary may have to be adjusted depending on the airlines departure city and their current flight schedule.  Frequent Flyer points are not available from any airline.

28.	A credit card imprint or cash deposit may be required from the Winner at check-in to the hotel, for all incidental charges. Once accommodation vouchers are issued they are non-changeable.

29.	It is the winners’ personal responsibility to ensure that they have valid documentation, including but not limited to valid passports and visas, which meet the requirements of immigration and other government authorities at every destination. Any fines, penalties, payments or expenditures incurred as a result of such documents not meeting the requirements of those authorities will be the sole responsibility of the travellers.

30.	The Promoter and any benefiting parties make no representation as to the safety, conditions or other issues that may exist at any destination. International travel advice can be obtained from various sources, including government, local consular offices and the web site of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

31.	The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the competition result.

32.	If a prize is unavailable, for whatever reason, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize for a prize of equal or greater value, subject to State Regulation.

33.	Once the prize has left the Promoter’s premises, the Promoter takes no responsibility for the prize being damaged, delayed or lost in transit.

34.	The Promoter reserves the right to refuse to allow a Winner to take part in any or all aspects of the prize, if the Promoter determines, in their absolute discretion, that a Winner is not in the mental or physical condition necessary to be able to safely participate in the prize.  It is a condition of accepting the prize that the Winner may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.

35.	By accepting the prize, the Winners agrees to participate in and co-operate as required with all reasonable media editorial requests relating to the prize, including but not limited to, being interviewed and photographed, filmed and/or chaperoned throughout the duration of the prize.

36.	In consideration for the Promoter awarding the prize to the Winners, the Winners hereby permits the Winner’s image and/or voice, as recorded, photographed or filmed during the Winner’s participation in the prize to appear in connection with National Geographic Channel or the advertising or marketing thereof, in any media whatsoever throughout the world and the Winner will not be entitled to any fee for such use.

37.	In the event that for any reason whatsoever a Winner does not take an element of the prize at the time stipulated by the Promoter then that element of the prize will be forfeited by the Winner and cash will not be awarded in lieu of that element of the prize.

38.	Prizes will be awarded to person named in the entry.

39.	Should an entrant’s contact details change during the promotional period, it is the entrant's responsibility to notify the Promoter. A request to access or modify any information provided in an entry should be directed to Promoter.

40.	Independent financial advice should be sought as tax implications may arise as a result of accepting the prize.

41.	It is a condition of accepting the prize that the Winners must comply with all the conditions of use of the prize and the prize supplier’s requirements.

42.	It is a condition of accepting the prize that the Winners may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.

43.	In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly hinders the Promoter’s ability to proceed with the competition on the dates and in the manner described in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism, the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the competition and recommence it from the start on the same conditions, subject to any written directions given under State Regulation.

44.	The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any prize/s except for any liability, which cannot be excluded by law.  The Promoter is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, either caused by the phone user or for any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in this competition, or for any technical error, or any combination thereof that may occur in the course of the administration of this competition including any omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line or telephone, mobile or satellite network failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries.

45.	The Promoter, and their associated agencies and companies assume no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of entries, and reserves the right to take any action that may be available.

46.	If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any causes beyond the control of the Promoter, which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition, subject to any written direction given under State Regulation.

47.	AUTOMATIC OPT-IN: By entering the promotion via Website entry, unless otherwise advised, each entrant also agrees that the Promoter may use this information, in any media for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes without any further reference, payment or other compensation to the entrant, including sending the entrant electronic messages. 48.	All entries become the property of the Promoter. The Promoter collects personal information about entrants to enable a person to participate in this promotion but no further use of this information will be made without prior consent.
